Refine your selection:
Our Maison collection brings together homeware inspired by the kitchens, tables and everyday life of Provence. We work with independent makers, family businesses and specialist producers, many of whom we have discovered during our regular visits to the South of France.
Not every product is made entirely in France. Materials and production origins vary, so we include the maker, materials and provenance on each product page wherever this information is available.
Care instructions vary according to the fabric and finish.
Our cotton and linen textiles can generally be machine washed. Waxed tablecloths are designed to be wiped clean after everyday use and may also be machine washed at a lower temperature. Do not use fabric conditioner, as this can damage or remove the protective wax coating.
Some linen and cotton tea towels benefit from being soaked in cold water before their first wash. Washing them before first use can also help improve their absorbency.
Please always follow the instructions on the individual product page and care label, as washing temperatures, drying and ironing recommendations vary between products.
Olive wood should be washed by hand rather than placed in a dishwasher. Use warm water and a small amount of mild washing-up liquid, then dry the item promptly.
Avoid leaving olive wood submerged in water or close to prolonged heat, as this may cause the wood to dry, warp or crack.
Because olive wood is a natural material, each piece has its own grain, knots, shape and colouring.
Suitability varies between pieces. Some of our traditional Provençal pottery, including selected tian bowls, is designed for preparing, baking and serving food and will be clearly described as oven-safe on the product page.
Do not assume that every piece is suitable for an oven, microwave or dishwasher. Please check the individual description and care instructions before use, particularly for handmade, decorative, vintage or antique pottery.
Please contact us before ordering if you need a piece for a particular cooking method.
Not always. Handmade pottery, olive wood and other natural or artisan-made products may vary slightly in colour, shape, size, grain, glaze or finish.
These natural differences are part of their character and help make each piece individual. We take care to photograph and describe our products accurately, but an olive wood board or handmade bowl will rarely be completely identical to another.
