Tariette offers a selection of knives and bladed cutlery intended for lawful culinary, dining, domestic and outdoor use.
These products are age restricted. We take our responsibility as a retailer seriously and have safeguards in place to prevent knives from being sold or delivered to anyone under 18.

Age verification is carried out for the purpose of confirming that the purchaser is at least 18 and helping us comply with our legal obligations.
Tariette does not ordinarily receive or retain a complete copy of an identity document submitted directly to AgeChecked.com.
We may receive:
* Confirmation that the check was successful or unsuccessful
* An age-verification result
* A verification reference
* Limited information needed to investigate or complete the order

If the automatic check is unsuccessful, you may be given a further opportunity to verify your age using another available method.
Please ensure that:
* Your name is entered correctly
* Your billing address is accurate
* The information matches your official records
* Any identity document is valid and clearly visible
* You follow the instructions provided by the verification service
If age verification cannot be completed, we may contact you to explain the available options.
We cannot accept or dispatch an age-restricted order unless we are satisfied that the legal and operational requirements have been met.
Where verification cannot be completed before dispatch, the affected product or order will be cancelled and the amount paid will be refunded.
Completing the online age check does not remove the possibility of a further check when the parcel is delivered.
Knife orders are sent using an appropriate tracked, signed-for or age-verified delivery service.
Our courier may operate a Challenge 25 policy. If the person receiving the parcel appears to be under 25, they may be asked to show valid photographic identification proving that they are at least 18.
Acceptable identification will depend on the courier’s requirements and may include:
* A valid passport
* A photocard driving licence
* Another government-issued photographic identity document
* An approved proof-of-age card accepted by the courier
The recipient must follow the courier’s identification requirements.
The courier may refuse delivery if:
* The recipient appears to be under 25 and cannot provide acceptable identification

* The identification does not establish that the recipient is at least 18
* Nobody aged 18 or over is available to accept the parcel
* The delivery requirements cannot otherwise be completed
Age-restricted products cannot normally be:
* Left in a nominated safe place
* Left unattended on a doorstep
* Delivered through a parcel locker
* Left with a neighbour
* Handed to anyone under 18
Delivery instructions asking the courier to leave an age-restricted parcel unattended will not override the courier’s age-verification requirements.
The parcel must be handed to an eligible recipient in accordance with the delivery service used.
Knives may only be purchased as gifts where both the purchaser and intended recipient are at least 18.
The recipient must be available to accept the parcel and provide suitable identification if requested by the courier.
We may require additional age-verification information relating to the recipient before dispatch.

Where the recipient cannot complete the required checks, we may be able to send the order to the verified purchaser instead.
If nobody eligible is available to accept the parcel, the courier may:
* Attempt delivery again
* Ask the recipient to rearrange delivery
* Hold the parcel at an appropriate depot or collection point
* Return the parcel to Tariette
The available options depend on the courier and service used.
An age-restricted parcel will not be released from a collection point unless the applicable identification and age checks can be completed.
If a parcel is returned because:
* Nobody eligible was available
* Acceptable identification was not provided
* The recipient was under 18
* The parcel was not collected
* The recipient refused to complete the age check
we may deduct reasonable and unrecoverable delivery and return costs from any refund, where permitted by law.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to change or cancel an order containing a knife.
We will try to stop the order before dispatch, but this may not be possible once it has entered processing.

For a change-of-mind return, the customer is normally responsible for the return-delivery cost.
Where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, Tariette will bear the reasonable return cost or make another appropriate arrangement.
Please contact us before returning any knife so that it can be packaged and transported safely.
The availability of knives for international delivery depends on:
* The destination country
* Local import restrictions
* The type of knife
* The courier service available

The availability of a product on our website does not guarantee that it can be sent to every country.
By placing an international order containing a knife, you confirm that:

The customer is responsible for:

* Storing it securely
* Keeping it away from children

Tariette products must not be used, carried, supplied or transferred for any unlawful purpose.
Tariette does not knowingly offer products that are prohibited from sale or possession under applicable UK law.
We may remove a product from sale or cancel an order if:

* Further information raises a compliance concern
* The product cannot lawfully be supplied to the customer or destination

We may also refuse an order involving unusual quantities, repeated purchases or other activity that reasonably requires further investigation.
Where appropriate or legally required, we may share relevant information with the police, Trading Standards, a courier, customs authority or another competent authority.
You must be at least 18 to purchase an age-restricted knife from Tariette at a market, event or pop-up.

If you appear to be under 25, you may be asked to provide valid photographic identification before the sale can be completed.
We may refuse a sale where:
