A harmonious blend of richness and vibrancy in this perfectly balanced Ventoux.
Producer: Vignerons du Mont Ventoux, est. 1924, Bedoin (Provence).
Les Vignerons du Mont Ventoux is a collective of growers and wine makers established in 1924 in Bedoin, at the foot of Mont Ventoux. They produce delicious and affordable wines with an approach that respects the terroir and traditions. Altitude 500 grows, as it names suggest, on the slopes of the mountain at an altitude of 500m where the nature, the terroir and the climate offer a lot of variation, sitting between the mountain above and the valley below.
What we say: "Carte Noire by VMV is a harmonious blend of fruit and finesse. This 2018 Ventoux offers notes of spiced cherries and blackberries with hints of vanilla and cocoa. The rich ruby colour gives way to a palate bursting with lush cherry flavour, slowly transforming into complex notes of liquorice and plum. We admire the contrast between the wine's depth and mineral freshness - a testament to the limestone slopes of Mt. Ventoux where these vines thrive. With ripe, integrated tannins and oak-aging, it's an elegant classic ready to enjoy today for under £15!"
