If you think rosé wines are just apéritif wines, think again. This rosé is crisp and thirst quenching, yet complex and round enough to pair with fine meals and to even please non rosé drinkers. If you're looking for the finest Provence rosé for under £20, look no further.
Producer: Cave de Lumières, Goult, France.
Lumières rosé is made from the best plots of the cooperative near Joucas. They have an ideal terroir for rosé, which is a mix of clay and sand in south-facing plots. The grapes are picked when the ripeness of the fruits is at its peak, and they go through direct pressing before their fermentation is controlled at a low temperature.
What we say: "The deep and elegant salmon colour of the Lumières rosé is luxurious and inviting. The nose is complex and rich, yet fresh, summery and tropical with hints of peach and mango. Don't get us wrong though, it is dry and not sweet. On the palate, Lumières is round with the perfect acidity that highlights the fresh notes of lychees. This is the top rosé of Cave de Lumieres. It will please rosé lovers with the highest expectations as well as more traditional fine wine enthusiasts."
