A refreshing wine-based apéritif from the Luberon made with peaches from the Durance valley.
Producer: Distilleries et Domaines de Provence, Forcalquier, France
This orange liqueur is made by combining Luberon rosé wine with sweet and bitter orange peels, curaçao and earthy bark infusions. It is inspired by the traditional recipe of "le vin d'orange" and Colombo is the variety of orange used in the traditional preparation. The orange infusions are made from rinds macerated in a water and alcohol mixture. Once all the ingredients are mixed, Orange Colombo is aged in a barrel for 6 weeks to give it time to round off before being filtered and bottled.
What we say: "Orange Colombo is a lovely apéritif and a great base for spritzers and other cocktails. This infusion allows the ingredients to blend perfectly with the orange. We love the depth and the complexity of the bitter notes and spices. On the palate, there's a hint of mulled wine which makes Orange Colombo quite festive and a great companion for chocolate desserts"
