A wonderfully exuberant piece of Vallauris pottery, decorated with large stylised flowers and deep black leaves against a vivid yellow ground. The flowers are picked out in rich shades of burgundy, rose and ochre, with incised and gilded detailing adding texture across the surface.
Story: Found in a brocante in Apt, Provence, in August 2026.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with light surface wear. No cracks or chips. The underside is signed C.F. 701 Vallauris, a mark associated with the ceramicist François Caleca. It is a particularly decorative example of the bold and expressive ceramics produced in Vallauris during the post-war period.
